Simple rules for using Avenue

Terms of Service

Last updated 1 August 2026

1. Operator and acceptance

These Terms are an agreement between you and Alexandros Fysentzou, a natural person operating the Avenue Now mobile application, the website at avenuecy.com, and related services under the name “Avenue” (“Avenue”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Avenue is a project name, not a company or separate legal entity. Alexandros is not registered as self-employed and has no VAT registration or VAT number.

Postal address: Psaron 28, Agios Dometios, 2362 Nicosia, Republic of Cyprus
Email: support@avenuecy.com

By creating an account, submitting content, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you only browse the Services, the provisions relevant to browsing still apply. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

The Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. Additional terms imposed by Apple, Google, or another app marketplace may also apply to your download and use of the app. Those platform providers are not parties to these Terms.

2. What Avenue provides

Avenue is a discovery and information service for events, activities, and venues in Cyprus. Users may browse listings, use maps and recommendations, save events, follow venues, receive optional notifications, submit listings for review, and report content.

The Services are currently provided without a fee to users. Avenue does not process payments and does not sell event tickets. Ticketing, bookings, reservations, transport, and attendance are arranged directly with the relevant third-party organiser, venue, or provider.

Avenue is not an organiser, venue, ticket seller, travel provider, or agent for a listed third party unless a listing expressly says otherwise. A listing is information, not an endorsement or guarantee.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You may browse core discovery features without an account. You need an account for features such as saving, following, personalised recommendations, notifications, and submissions.

You must be at least 16 to create an account or submit content. If the law where you live requires a higher age or parental permission to enter this agreement, that rule applies. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet the applicable requirement.

You must provide accurate information, keep it current, protect your sign-in credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

Do not create an account for another person without authority, impersonate anyone, or use misleading identity or contact information.

4. Event, venue, image, and feedback submissions

You retain ownership of content you submit, including text and images (“User Content”). You must own the User Content or have all permissions needed to submit it and allow us to use it as described here.

When you submit User Content, you give Alexandros Fysentzou a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, adapt for technical display, publish, communicate, and promote that User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and publicise Avenue and the relevant event or venue. This licence allows public listings and share pages to function. It does not transfer ownership to us.

The licence continues while the User Content is used in the Services. It ends when the content is deleted, except for a reasonable technical period for backups and except where retention is legally required. Approved factual listing information may remain in anonymised form after account deletion, as described in the Privacy Policy. You may request removal of specific content.

Feedback and ideas about Avenue may be used without payment or confidentiality obligations, but you continue to own any rights that cannot legally be waived or licensed.

5. Content standards

User Content must:

  • be accurate to the best of your knowledge and kept reasonably current;
  • relate to a genuine event, activity, venue, or support issue;
  • respect copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity, and other rights;
  • include personal or public contact details only where you have authority to publish them;
  • comply with applicable law and any permits, licences, age restrictions, or safety rules relevant to the event or venue.

User Content must not be illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, hateful, pornographic, exploitative, unsafe, invasive of privacy, malicious, or designed to spread malware or spam. It must not promote unlawful goods, services, or conduct.

Do not upload images of identifiable people unless you have a lawful basis and any necessary permission, especially where children appear. Do not include passwords, payment-card data, identity documents, health data, or other sensitive personal information.

6. Review, moderation, and reporting

Submissions are reviewed before public approval. We may verify, edit for formatting or clarity, reject, restrict, unpublish, or remove content where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or third-party rights, comply with law, keep information accurate, or operate the Services. We do not promise that every submission will be published or remain published.

Where practical and legally permitted, we will explain a material moderation decision and provide a way to ask for review. We may preserve relevant records when handling a report or legal claim.

Report incorrect, unsafe, illegal, or rights-infringing content using the in-app report feature or by emailing support@avenuecy.com. Include the listing, the reason for the report, and your contact details if you want a response. False or abusive reports are prohibited.

Copyright or trade-mark notices should identify the protected work or mark, the disputed material, your authority to act, and a good-faith explanation. We may request further verification.

7. Third-party organisers, links, maps, and services

Listings may link to ticket sellers, organisers, venues, websites, Instagram, phone numbers, maps, and other services we do not control. Your dealings with them are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Before travelling, paying, booking, or attending, verify the date, time, location, price, availability, age restriction, accessibility, cancellation policy, and safety information directly with the organiser or venue. Avenue is not responsible for a third party’s acts, omissions, goods, services, cancellations, refunds, or data practices, except to the extent the law says otherwise.

Map pins, routes, distances, opening hours, and location results are approximate. Do not use Avenue for emergency navigation or as your only source of safety-critical information.

8. Acceptable use

You may use the Services for lawful personal discovery and authorised event or venue management. You must not:

  • break the law, infringe rights, or encourage harmful conduct;
  • circumvent security, access controls, rate limits, moderation, or account restrictions;
  • probe, scan, interfere with, overload, damage, or introduce malicious code into the Services;
  • scrape, harvest, systematically copy, or build a competing database from the Services except where applicable law or a written licence permits it;
  • use bots or automated access without our written permission, other than ordinary search-engine indexing that respects our controls;
  • collect or use another person’s data for spam, harassment, profiling, or unauthorised marketing;
  • misrepresent an affiliation with Avenue, an organiser, or a venue;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services or Avenue content without permission.

Nothing in these Terms prevents reverse engineering or another activity to the extent it cannot lawfully be restricted.

9. Avenue intellectual property

Except for User Content and third-party material, the Services—including the software, design, branding, original text, graphics, and selection and arrangement of content—belong to Alexandros Fysentzou or the relevant licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law.

We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Services for their intended purpose while you comply with these Terms. No other rights are granted. Third-party names, logos, map data, event images, and listing content remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Changes, availability, and accuracy

We work to keep Avenue useful and accurate, but event and venue information may be supplied by users or third parties and can change without notice. We do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, lawful, available, or suitable for you.

We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features for operational, security, legal, or product reasons. We will use reasonable care and, where practical, give notice of a material discontinuation. The Services may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

11. Our responsibility to you

We provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. If we breach these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that was a foreseeable result of that breach or our failure to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business loss suffered by a consumer, or for a third party’s independent acts or omissions.

The Services are for general discovery and information. You remain responsible for decisions about travel, attendance, safety, suitability, purchases, and dealings with organisers or venues.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; death or personal injury caused by negligence; wilful misconduct or gross negligence where it cannot be limited; breach of data-protection duties; or any warranty, remedy, or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

12. Suspension, termination, and account deletion

You may stop using Avenue at any time. You can permanently delete your account from Profile settings → Delete account. More information is available on the account deletion page.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access, or remove User Content, where we reasonably believe you materially or repeatedly breached these Terms, created a security or legal risk, harmed other users, or used the Services fraudulently. Except in urgent or serious cases, we will normally give notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue.

When an account ends, your right to use account features ends. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, licences already needed for lawful retained content, responsibility, disputes, and legal retention—will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, safety needs, or our operating practices. We will update the date above. If a change materially affects registered users, we will provide reasonable advance notice by an in-app message, email, or prominent notice where practical. Changes will not apply retroactively unless required by law.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you may stop using the Services and delete your account before they take effect.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law of the country where you habitually live.

Please first contact support@avenuecy.com so we can try to resolve a concern informally. The courts of Cyprus will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in any court available to you under mandatory consumer law. We do not require arbitration and do not restrict your right to contact a regulator or public authority.

If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary; the remaining provisions will continue. Our delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver.
